At 7am this morning; Bec, Wendy and Jo went for a 1 hour walk along the beach just as the sun was rising. The morning was beautiful, with bright blue skies, and not a cloud to be seen. The temp was suppose to reach a top of 27deg, so we eagerly looked fwd to a fantastic day ahead.
Although the girls were out early doing their new fitness regime, the rest of us rose out of bed at a more respectable time and took it easy as we slowly packed up camp ready to continue our journey north; or should that North by North West, around Australia.
We were on the road by mid morning, and passed through the coastal towns of Jurien Bay, Green Head and Leeman as we made our way into Geraldton; where we have booked 3 x nights accommodation at the Belair Gardens Caravan Park. Jace, Jo, Maya, Grace and Jai are here with us as we have now 'hooked up' again and plan on travelling together for an extended period of time - or when we all find we need our own space again; which ever comes first. :-)
We arrived in Geraldton at just after 1pm, and soon had the camp all set up. The breeze had picked up a bit and is making it a little cool, but I think if that's all we have to worry about then we are still very lucky.
Geraldton Foreshore Water Park |
The kids were all very anxious to get out and about exploring, so we agreed that after craft time where they all made Mothers Day cards (that's apparently this Sunday), we would head down to the foreshore where there is a large shaded children's playground; complete with a free water fun park.
Jace and I dropped off the kids and women folk at the park, and then went in search of a caravan spare parts shop. We wanted to stock up on some much needed items (that we think we might need on our continuing journey around Australia), and this was the perfect opportunity to do so.
We all returned to the vans to cook dinner (Chicken Stir Fry tonight), and then the kids all piled into our van to watch a Harry Potter Movie. Scarlett loves being on the road, and really enjoys the company that Maya, Grace and Jai provide. They all get on so well that it makes our travels that much more enjoyable - for everyone!
